"Photoshop's do Pedro/Atletas do Sporting Clube de Portugal"

Aqui ficam dois exemplares da serie de photoshop's que fiz para a exposição "O Golpe do Leão" em Outubro de 2011. Estes dois foram escolhidos pois acho que são dos mais bem conseguidos e também porque os seleccionei para serem leiloados num dos leilões de arte na Electricidade Estética. Nesta serie peguei em varias personalidades do mundo Sporting, atletas, e pus a minha cara no corpo deles, assim, todos eles são eu, e eu sou todos eles. Nestes dois casos, o ciclista Joaquim Agostinho e o velocista Francis Obikwelu.

"Pedro's Photoshop / Athletes Sporting Clube de Portugal"
Here are two examples of the series of photoshop's I made for the exhibition "Lion Strike" in October 2011. These two were chosen because I think they are the most well done and also because they have been selected to be auctioned in the art auction in Electricity Aesthetics. In this series I took in several of the world Sporting personalities, athletes, and put my face on their bodies, so they are all me, and I'm all of them. In both cases, the rider Joaquim Agostinho and sprinter Francis Obikwelu.

"O Cordeiro de Deus"

Depois das enormes dimensões um trabalho mais pequeno mas pelo qual tenho muito apreço. Uma pintura de 100x100cm que retrata uma pacata vila alentejana, junto ao rio. Um cordeiro pasta e ao fundo, um OVNI puxa uma vaca para os céus.

"The Lamb of God"
After the huge dimensions a smaller work but I like it a lot (1oox100cm). A painting that depicts a  quiet Alentejo village near the river. A lamb is eating and far, a UFO is pulling a cow to the skies.

"O homem na Lua"

Passado alguns meses sem publicar nada, publico agora um dos meus mais recentes trabalhos. Uma Pintura intitulada de "O homem na Lua" com as dimensões de 400x420cm como podem ver. A minha presença ao lado é só mesmo para dar noções da escala, enquanto não arranjo uma fotografia melhor, sem mim. Ora, nesta pintura apresenta-se um homem na Lua, com o trem lunar de um lado e ventoinhas eólicas do outro. No centro, no reflexo do seu capacete, esvoaça a bandeira do Sporting. Esta pintura esteve exposta este mês de Janeiro no CCC, nas Caldas da Rainha, na exposição de defesas de tese de Mestrado. Publicarei entretanto nos meus escritos a "Apresentação de Defesa de Tese e prefacio da Componente Escrita da Tese" onde falo um bocado do meu processo de trabalho e das minhas preocupações.

"Man on the Moon"
After a few months without posting anything, i publish now one of my most recent works. A painting titled "Man on the Moon" with the dimensions of 400x420cm as you can see. My presence at the side is just right to give you notions of scale, while not score a better photograph, without me. However, this painting presents a man on the moon with the lunar train on one side and on the other wind fans. In the center, reflecting on his helmet, flutters the flag of Sporting. This painting was exposed this month of January in the CCC, in Caldas da Rainha, in the statement of defense of the Master thesis. In the meanwhile i will publish my writings in the "Presentation of Thesis Defense and preface of Component Writing Thesis" where I talk a lot of my work process and of my concerns.

"Pedro Oliveira Team VS Grandes Artistas Team"

Esta instalação consiste na apresentação de um jogo de computador. Este é um jogo de futebol virtual onde o espectador é convidado a participar. Existem duas equipas criadas por mim, A Pedro Oliveira Team e a Grandes Artistas Team, o objectivo como é óbvio é jogar e vencer o adversário. O Problema aqui é o jogo estar viciado a favor de Pedro Oliveira Team e quem jogar com Pedro Oliveira ganhar certamente aos Grandes Artistas.

Este trabalho foi apresentado assim com está, em conjunto com mais uns quantos trabalhos na minha exposição "O Golpe do Leão", dentro do ciclo de exposições "Os Mestres do Kung-fu" que aconteceu em Outubro de 2011 no espaço "Electricidade Estética" (ir ao link referente em ligações amigas para ver mais fotos da exposição), nas Caldas da Rainha.

O objectivo dessa exposição foi recriar uma sala de uma associação recreativa e para além do jogo, existia também um jogo de xadrez, uma prateleira com medalhas do meus feitos desportivos e toda uma panóplia de adereços que ajudavam a recriar o espaço, desde cartazes e recortes de jornais a pinturas, fotografias etc...

"Pedro Oliveira Team VS Greatest Artists Team"

This installation consists in the presentation of a computer game. This is a virtual football game where the viewer is invited to participate. There are two teams set up by myself, Pedro Oliveira Team  and  Greatest Artists Team, the aim is obviously to play and beat the opponent. The problem here is that the game is vitiate to Pedro Oliveira Team and who play with Pedro Oliveira certainly win the Greatest Artists. This work was presented like this , together with some more works in my exhibition "The Lion Strike", inside the cycle of exhibitions "The Masters of Kung-fu" that happened in October 2011 in the "Electricity Aesthetics" (go to link Electricidade Estética    to see more photos of the exhibition), in Caldas da Rainha. The aim of this exhibition was to recreate a room and a recreation association and in addition to the game, there was also a chess game, a shelf with medals  ​​of my sporting achievements  and a whole panoply of props that helped to recreate the space, from posters and cutouts newspapers to paintings, photographs, etc ...

"Yanick Jah Love"

Outra das minhas novas criações que assim como a pintura anterior relaciona não só os modelos futebolísticos com a organização da sociedade como os eleva ao estatuto de deuses. A base do plinto tem (25cm x 25cm x 120cm) o que da para dar uma ideia do busto. Este foi comprado em gesso e pintado por mim!

"Yanick Jah Love"
Another of my new creations as well as the earlier painting relates not only the football models    with the organization of the society but raise its to the status of gods. The base of the plinth is (25cm x 25cm x 120cm) what gives an idea of the bust. This was purchased in plaster and painted by me!

"As costas da camisola suada do Yordanov na final da Taça de Portugal de 1994/95"

Passado algum tempo sem postar nada no blog devido ao desenvolvimento da componente escrita da tese de Mestrado em Artes Plásticas apresento agora uma das minhas novas criações. Uma pintura de (200cm x 300cm) que representa o que o próprio titulo indica. Cada vez mais o universo da mitologia futebolística se vem relacionando com o da criação artística e daí uma analise critica aos modelos de organização da nossa sociedade.

"The back of Yordanov's  sweater sweaty  Portugal's Cup final   1994/95"
After some time without posting anything on the blog due to the development of the written component of the Master thesis in Fine Arts I present now one of my new creations. A painting (200cm x 300cm) which is what the title itself indicates. Increasingly the world of football mythology comes to relating with the artistic creation, and hence a critical analysis of models of organization of our society.

"O Homeostático"

"O homeostático", como o próprio nome indica é uma parodia. Uma parodia à arte e ao seu sistema (nomeadamente em Portugal) e ao próprio Homem enquanto potencial ser criador e construtor de um mundo novo. Como é óbvio o nome não é casual tendo visivelmente um duplo sentido, uma citação ao grupo homeostética, às suas reflexões e á relação das suas actividades com o momento actual em que vivemos, onde existe um homem-estático ou melhor, um "parecido com" estático na nossa sociedade e no mundo da arte. Assim o homem continua estagnado na antiguidade no passado, mas, ao invés da clássica, este, cobre os genitais, censurando-se e castrando a sua própria evolução.

"The homeostatic"
"The homeostatic" as the name suggests is a parody. A parody to art and its system (particularly in Portugal) and the man himself  as a potential creator and builder of a new world. Obviously the name is not accidental visibly taking a double meaning, a citation to the group Homeostética, their reflections and their activities are compared with the present time we live in, where there is a man-static or rather a "looks like "static in our society and in the art world. So the  man still stuck in the past, but instead of the classic, this covers the genitals, castrating censoring themselves and their own evolution.

"Processo de betumar uma chapa de zinco"

Este foi um projecto experimental para a disciplina de gravura. No projecto fica o registo do acto de betumar uma chapa de zinco. A musica serve para animar a cena de forma a ironizar este tipo de animaçoes!

This was an experimental project for the discipline of printmaking. In the project lies the registration of the act grouting a zinc plate. The music serves to animate the scene in order to mock this kind of animations!

"O setimo golo do Sporting ao Benfica, por Manuel Fernandes em 1986/87"

Aqui esta a minha nova pintura a que decidi chamar "O setimo golo do Sporting ao Benfica, por Manuel Fernandes em 1986/87" e apresenta, essa mesma cena! Um estadio a abarrotar de gente e bandeira, o golo, e outraas coisas. As dimensoes: 390x283 cm. Na foto de baixo vemos esta e outra pintura, instaladas no atrio da ESAD.

"The seventh goal from Sporting to Benfica , by Manuel Fernandes in 1986/87"
Here is my new painting I decided to call "The seventh goal from Sporting to Benfica , by Manuel Fernandes in 1986/87" and presents that same scene! A stadium packed with people and a flag, and the goal, and other things. The dimensions: 390x283 cm. In the photo below we see this and other painting, installed in the atrium of the ESAD.

"Jogando computador"

A minha primeira pintura de 2011, três sujeitos estão num quarto escuro, com a luz do monitor a iluminar-lhes a face. Dois jogam um jogo de futebol no computador enquanto um terceiro espera a sua vez! Um está a vencer e outro a perder. De fundo na janela, prédios e a noite. Esta pintura mede por volta de um metro de altura por um e meio de largura.

"Playing computer"
My first painting of 2011, three guys are in a dark room, with the monitor light illuminating their face. Two play a football game on the computer while a third waits his turn! One is winning and the other is losing. On the background in the window, buildings and the night. This painting measures about one meter high by one and a half wide.

"A faca e o coelho"

Este díptico foi pensado a quando da minha ida à Gulbenkian, para ver a exposição de naturezas mortas! Neste momento a peça está exposta em Óbidos na galeria Nova Ogiva, na exposição "Quem são eles?". "A faca e o coelho" foi o nome que decidi escolher para este trabalho, pois para além de ser uma descrição da imagem acaba por remeter para uma historia, uma fábula, algo que se passa entre estes dois personagens! Neste caso o que mata e o que morre!

"The knife and the rabbit"
This diptych was thought the time of my visit to the Gulbenkian Foundation, to see the exhibition of still lifes! At this time the piece is on display in the gallery Óbidos Nova Ogiva, the exhibit "Who are they?". "The knife and the rabbit" was the name that I decided to choose for this work, as well as being a description of the image turns out to refer to a story, a fable, something that goes on between these two characters! In this case the killing and dying!

Ao assistir a "O Livro da selva" da Walt Disney captei esta cena. Acredito que seja uma situação com a qual todos nós nos deparamos, a entrada na "sociedade"! Claro está que decidi fazer uma pequena montagem no movie maker!

" A Fuga para o Egipto"

Aqui está a minha mais recente grande pintura! São José e Nossa Senhora fogem para o Egipto seguidos de um gajo mascarado de urso, que teoricamente sou eu. Com a pirâmide e a esfinge de fundo uma nave espacial ilumina-os! A pintura mede uns 220x205 cm!

Here's my latest great painting! Lady Mary and St. Joseph fleeing to Egypt followed by a guy masquerading as a bear, which theoretically is me. With the Pyramid and the Sphinx fund a spacecraft illuminates them! The painting measures about 220x205 cm!

Aqui está mais uma produção de extrema qualidade! O registo video da performance "Ceci n'est pas un coyote... Mais je suis Joseph Beuys". O audio é realmente o ambiente no museu nessa noite e é produção do renato. Podem ver o video dos acontecimentos todos no blog da TV Caldas com link aqui ao lado! De qualquer das formas eu queria um registo que funciona-se de encontro ao registo do documentario original do Beuys e em relação às fotos passa-se o mesmo!

Here is another production of great quality! The video record of performance "Ceci n'est pas un coyote ... More je suis Joseph Beuys." Anyway I wanted a record that works up against the original Beuys  documentary record of the   and about the photos shall be the same!

"Ceci n'est pas un Coyote... Mais je suis Joseph Beuys" Parte I

Esta performance foi feita no desenvolvimento de um projecto chamado "happenings no Museu" (museu bernardo, que consistia em cada pessoa desenvolver um "acontecimento" em cada uma das salas do museu. este foi o meu projecto: um "redimade", uma recriaçao/ reinterpretaçao, por assim dizer, da intervençao de Beuys na America! Sendo assim e nao tendo coiote tenho a participaçao especial da Maria, uma cadela muito bem comporta e muito minha amiga, o que logicamente reverte a situaçao! PS: Estou bastante contente com o resultado das fotografias!

"Ceci n'est pas un Coyote... Mais je suis Joseph Beuys" Part I
This performance was made in the developing of a project called "happenings at the Museum" (museum bernardo, which consisted of each person develop an "happening" in each of the rooms of the museum. This was my project: a "redimade", a recreation / reinterpretation, so to speak, of the intervention of Beuys in America! so, not having a coyote i have   got the special participation of Maria a very  behaved Dog   friend of mine, which of course reverses the situation! PS: I'm quite happy with the result of the photographs!

Sem titulo ou à falta de melhor "O Controlador de mentes"

À falta de melhor nome decidi chamar a este video "O controlador de mentes", devido ao proprio dispositivo, de qualquer das maneiras tambem posso considera-lo o meu primeiro trabalho sem titulo apesar de lhe ter dado um, porque nao consigo achar nenhum melhor e por achar que nada se apropria. Neste video temos entao um homem que caminha no meio da natureza, com um objecto na cabeça, um arame, que o liga a varios objectos pendurados na extremidade, um deles esta nota aqui apresentada. Este objecto, tem a mesma funçao daqueles que servem para fazer os cavalos e os burros andarem mas, ao contrario destes, este nao tem palas, ou seja, pode-se olhar em todas as direcçoes, e desviar o olhar dos objectos em frente, mas o homem nao quer. So para salientar estou extremamente feliz com o resultado final, tanto do video, como dos objectos. Em breve mais imagens.

"The mind controller"
The lack of a better name I decided to call this video "The mind controller" due to the own device, either way I also consider it my first job without a title, despite having given him one, because I can not find any better and think that nothing is appropriated. In this video we have  a man who walks through nature,  with an object in his head, a wire that connect him to various objects hanging in the end, this euro note  presented here. This object has the same function of those who serve to make the horses and donkeys walk but, unlike these, it has no flaps, that is, he can look in all directions, and look away from objects in front, but the man does not want. Just to point out I am extremely happy with the end result of both the video as objects. Soon more images.

At the request of many readers  I had to participate in this good initiative of group A9, which every week or every two weeks has the opportunity to have a page in the Journal of Leiria with its programming and they have been inviting several people to illustrate it. So this was how I illustrated!  Long live Leiria!

"A adoração de Nossa Senhora Maria de La Salete, dos seus Discipulos e de outros santos, nas catacumbas da Igreja Santissima da Oliveira"

Esta instalaçao fez parte de um ciclo de Fotografia, intitulado "On Photography" que aconteceu em Março no Tunel da Fundaçao Bernardo. Aproveitei entao para fazer uma homenagem à minha querida e saudosa avó e à sua Santificaçao incluindo a Santificaçao da minha familia e como esta claro, de mim proprio. A proposta fotografica apresentava-se nos paineis laterais do corredor onde atraves do alto contraste alterei a cor da fotografia para ficar mais "pintura" e atraves do uso de fotografias banais de jantares, almoços, carnavais, etc. Ao fundo um altar para a minha avó materna com todo o respeito e com uma almofada aos pes para nos ajoelharmos! Acho que acabou por funcionar relativamente bem!

"The worship of  Our Lady Maria de La Salette, of his disciples and other saints, in the catacombs of the church of the Santissima Oliveira"

This installation was part of a cycle of Photography, titled "On Photography" held in March at the tunnel of the Bernardo Foundation  . I took  to make a tribute to my beloved and nostalgic grandmother and his sanctification including the sanctification of my family and of course, my own to. The proposal presented photographic panels on the sides of the aisle. Through the high-contrast I  changed the color of the photos to be more "painting",  photographs of banal dinners, lunches, carnivals, etc.. At the bottom an altar for my grandmother with all respect and with a pillow next to the feet to kneel! I think it actually worked out fairly well!

A Pior Banda do Mundo

Este é o video da Pior Banda do Mundo que eu e o Carlos fizemos para o concurso "A Pior banda do Mundo". infelizmente o video nao foi passado no concurso, mas fica aqui o registo, mais uma peque performance!

Rambo - First Blood Part II

Rambo - First Blood Part II é uma apropriaçao deste grande classico numa visao do que é "video Art". A proposta consistia em apresenta-lo numa sessao de video arte a acontecer no museu bernardo mas quando foi passado, nao foi dentro dos parametros que eu idealizava e, sendo assim a proposta ficou so por alto, com muita pena minha. Nao tenho muito mais pra dizer sobre isto a nao ser que adoro!
